Our Mission

Sandcastle Church started as evangelism on the beaches of Port Aransas. As people came and received the Lord as their Savior, God called us to start a home based church where people could fellowship and grow in knowledge and wisdom. Our mission is to walk as disciples of Jesus

fulfilling the Great Commission by making more disciple.

Currently, we have service on Sundays at 11 Am and host bible studies weekly.

What We Believe

About the Bible

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16). Therefore, we believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God and is alive (Hebrews 4:12) applicable to man today (1 Perter 1:25). The Word of God is the final authority and should be taught in public, studied it in private, and used as a guide for our daily lives (Romans 15:4).

About God

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the world (John 1:14). The Holy Spirit is God within us, gifted to the believers in Jesus to teach, comfort and empower us. (1 Corinthians 3:16)

About Man

We believe that all people were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26) to have fellowship with Him but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience (Isaiah 59:2).  As a result,  people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts (Romans 3:10).

About Salvation

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins through repentance (Luke 24:47). Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who repent of their sin and place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.

About the Christian Life

We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves.  By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.  Christian service is part of the Christian life and is the responsibility of all believers.  Our goal is to develop the ministry of every member to the benefit of all. (Ephesians 4:11-13)

About Spiritual Gifts

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercising of all Spiritual Gifts including the gift of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, speaking in different kinds of tongues, the interpretation of tongues (1 Cor. 12 4-11). Each believer should desire the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 14: 1) and use them for the building up of the Church through the instruction of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 14:12).

About the Church

We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church.  The Church, also known as the body of Christ, consists of those who have trusted by faith in Christ and are obedient to Him as their Lord.  The purpose of the Church is to glorify God by loving Him, loving others, and making Him known by doing our part to share the Gospel of Jesus and walk out the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Pastor Bobbi Erben

I was called into the ministry in June of 2016. I come from a family of pastors, my father, mother, and brother all all pastors called into the service of Jesus by spreading the Gospel. Receiving the call of the Lord is something hard to express in words. After having a near death experience in 2008, I realized how much I needed God and his direction in my life.  For the next 7 years I sought a closer relationship with Him, allowing Him to direct my steps and learning obedience to Him through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. As I submitted to His direction, He began to bless me abundantly and led me to the desires of my heart, including living on an island in Port Aransas, Texas. After he had given me so much, I turned to Him and thanked him for His grace and love then asked, "God, if there is anything I can do for you, I am willing, for you are an Amazing God." The answer was a clear nearly audible voice, "Share what I have done for for you with my children so that they too may be blessed."

I would love to say that I jumped at the request, but the truth is, I argued with Him against it. I had no degree from seminary. His response was clear, "Apostles had no seminary training nor did the early church. I will teach you." I had been a teacher in the public school system for 12 years, and submitted to his plan, "God, if this is your will for my life, then I will do what you ask, but only if is You speaking and teaching, for by myself, I am unworthy." The next 6 months were spent feverishly immersing myself in His Word seeking His knowledge and understanding while leading a small home group in learning to be active disciples. Step by step, I learned to let him guide me. I became a bible scholar, researching the bible verses He pointed out and seeking His knowledge and understanding. Then, God led me to the next step, planting a church.

In obedience, Sandcastle Church was formed in January of 2017. We are a non-denominational home based church. Our mission is to "feed his sheep" the word for we do not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.(Matthew 4:4) We seek to not only give the word of God, but to generate a hunger for more.  Weather permitting we meet on the beach and are a church without walls, without judgement, calling to His children to come and have a relationship with Him. Every message He provides is based on His word to build up and restore his children, calling them into active discipleship. We encourage each other to seek righteousness through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, hear His voice, and walk in obedience to Him.
